Anne Frank: Her Life and Surprising Legacy (Online)

Gillian Perry will share the remarkable story of how Anne’s magical thread has woven itself around the world. From the hard-fought publication of Anne’s diary in 1947 (and how it so nearly didn’t happen), to the creation by Otto Frank of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and the effect of learning about Anne Frank on millions of people around the world, some in desperate and difficult situations. It contextualizes Anne Frank educational projects against the background of world history and explains the impact she has had in some of the world’s most turbulent and violent regions.
We will also hear about some remarkable people who have been involved in Mrs. Perry’s work, including Nelson Mandela, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Steven Spielberg, and Angelina Jolie, as well as music legends and royalty. Surprising insights will be shared during this one-hour online presentation, free and open to the public.
